Hi guys,
I've noticed that amongst the Carpet subfamily head shape seems to vary between specimens. Some have an elongated, almost Scrubbie/Retic like head shape, whereas others (especially jungles?) have squatter, rounder heads with truncated muzzles.
In other words - leaning towards dog physiology terms somewhat - some have a mesocephalic shape (equal proportions between skull and "muzzle" length) and others are bracycephalic (shorter "muzzle" than skull).
I was wondering if anyone has any info on this (have looked around before posting). Is it a sexually dimorphic characteristic? Juvenile vs adult? Subspecies dependent? Plain luck of the genes?
Your thoughts...
