Nice whiptails. I have a large western whiptail that has been hanging out in my front yard. I haven't got it's picture since it won't stay still. I've been trying to herd it into my backyard so it won't get ran over crossing the street.
Any C. reticulatus yet?

actually we have pretty much moved through Medina County and have found no prescense, we are now working off the 187 in Sabinal which west of hoighway 90 doesn't look bad. We expect to get to highway 140 soon but the drought was so bad we weren't seeing any lizards at all in the field, but now we have had several big rains and are ready to get out again, I expect this weekend or next week. Were having a good time and I have met with some neat people ove this issue and I'll keep you in the loop. Hopes are that we should find some isolated populations especially when we get over to highway 140 as we have had reports of them on propertys just beyond the Uvalde County southern border so I am assuming that there is proabaly some there in Uvalde, also the thornscrub and ciliche rock looks like the right stuff. I am also in the process of getting permission to search some areas as well. Take it easy and I had a great time being able to get close enough to actually get a decent picture of these.........

Did you tell me you had seen these guys? Or that you and your friend thought maybe they may be a cross between C. vestigium and C. bicinctores?

I'm curious as you and I had talked last season when Zia my female C. bicinctores was gravid, and had been living with the Vestigium pair at the time. You said it would be interesting to see the offspring. Well they were not fertile.

But Zia layed 4 very nice large eggs this season, about a week or so ago, and the father is Chino the C. vestigium . So we very well may get to see them after all, and what they look like. I will keep you updated on the eggs and hatching if all goes well
