I am going to be moving to Dubai, UAE and I understand there are some Uromastyx there. Has anyone actually gone out in the field here looking for them? I assume they are like chucks in that they see you from far off and get between rocks before you get there.

Any advice would be helpful. I'd love to post some pictures here of some in their native habitat.

I read on the web a few years back about two people in the Eilat Mountain nature reserve in Israel, studying wild ornate uros. I think it was "Danny Molco" and "Osnat Ben David". I am sure you can find it by googling.
If you can reach either of them maybe they know of someone in the area you will be in.
