Yesterday I had to run over to the vets & she had her sulcata baby in a large tank up front. I saw this baby last year right after it hatched. It's grown SO MUCH over the winter, it's larger than my adult mud turtle now. Sooooooooooo cute!
She also now has a baby that came from the same clutch but they weren't hatched together. It's a long story.... my vet had half the eggs, the breeder had the other half because my vet had done some surgery on the mother tortoise.
The baby my vet hatched is much larger than the one from the other group of eggs. Both look very healthy though.
She has them up in the lobby because a group of kids are coming for a tour, when it's over they'll go back to the reptile room where conditions are better for them.
I was as thrilled as the group of kids will be to see them. I got to hold them though. LOL
Then I come home & look at my giant.. it still blows me away to know that such a huge tortoise can be so teensy when they're born!
