Bees or Supers???

rwoodyer May 05, 2006 01:14 PM

My '04 female pastel (mouse eater) is going to explode!

The only question is if she is going to drop some bumblebees or supers. Either way I will be happy. This is why it is funny when people say, "I think my female might have ovulated, but I am not sure"...lol, oh you'll know...

Also note the glowing...looking good

but as for the obviousness of ovulation, that appears to be a "smaller" female(going by the gauge on the side of the tub).

they tent to really show more as compared to a 3000 gram adult which usually wont be that obvious.

congrats though should be a nice clutch

She peaked at about 1800 grams this year and is currently around 1600. However, I have to disagree about larger females not showing as much. One normal female of 2900 grams ovulated for me a few months back, it looked like she ate a medium rabbit. She subsequently laid 8 eggs. A second female of about 2500 grams ovulated and looked even larger than than that, about the size of my calf muscle, she laid 7 eggs (each around 120 grams). In my experience, it is pretty obvious when they ovulate

Maybe I've just been lucky
