The odds are about 60/40 against my getting any more ball pythons this year, but if I were to get one and get a morph, the candidates are:

1. Spider - because they eat well, look good, and to show that I don't believe that wobble-head rumor;

2. Pastel - because I have a female that I might someday breed to a pastel;

3. Granite - because I've heard that they are closer to my price range.

It's not how many snakes you have. It's how happy and healthy you can keep them.

i've heard it called "spinners" and have personally seen one do it. in my opinion it's no big deal just a little quirk they have. from what i've heard it's not really a health issue so what's the big deal? my female hasn't done it yet, at least not that i've seen.

Kingofspades May 06, 2006 12:12 AM

Actually I am getting a N.E.R.D line Lemon Pastel this month, and it will be my FIRST morph.

After that...I might get a black pastel...or maybe some het albinos.
Dunno yet.

I do want to create super pastels, and maybe one day bumblebees...
so we'll see what happens.

I'm picking up a BHB male Clown & a het female, also getting a female pastel.

My first clutch of the season is due to hatch 5/14. From breeding a pair of possible double het carmel glows. If i'm lucky i'll get an orange hypo, if im' luckier i'll get a carmel albino and if by chance I hit the big one i'll get a carmel glow. I HATE WAITING. lol

I may change it to "Rookie No More"

Right now I'm trying to get my Albino male to breed my het female, they lay together all the time but no action yet... I think he's shy.....

An female axanthic or pied or a female het axanthic or pied is what I hope to get in the next year. As far as morphs go, there is not much out there I like. Don't get me wrong I love the look of spiders, but the risk of wobble heads is to high in my mind. I would like to have a pied, but I want an axanthic first.

I do wonder what a snow pied would look like? any ideas? has it been done? if so any pics? I would love to see how the pattern would look, a vpi snow as I understand has very little pattern, and the pied pattern is off, so I wonder what the two mixed would do.

VPI axanthics rock! We have one from Tracy that is just awesome. In addition to being gorgeous, she has a great disposition and is our best eater hands down- she would eat every night if we let her. From what I understand, most axanthics have these desirable attributes. I would take a pic but we just fed her so maybe I'll get one later this week.

The snow-pied has not been done yet, at least not as far as the public knows. Should be an awesome snake though... in the more immediate future, I think the axanthic pieds and axanthic hypos will be really cool. Hopefully we'll see them both this year?

My Het Clown fella is beggin for a girlfriend, so I'd think a Het Clown female is going to be my next addition. I'm praying at least one of the eggs in the incubator is a caramel.
