To my experience kingsnakes usually go for low hideouts. I actually just recovered a hypo bullseye Nelson's milk the same size that managed to get it self trapped in a 10gl aquarium (empty) that was siting on my garage floor.

Look in shoes, drawers boxes anything that a small snke might find secure. Also, wait till after everyone's in bed (lights out for an hour or so)and prowl the rooms it might be in with a flashlight. I often find them that way.

he's dead. i don't know how he got out. i thought sure i had the lid secure. i guess not. i have 7 other snakes so this isn't my first one. but it was my first king snake. my sister found him outside in the driveway. looks like he got run over. we burried him. i only had him a week. he was so cute. i'm sad now. thanks for replying.
