Food for JCP

pap500 May 06, 2006 02:26 AM

Hi, I am relatively new to having a reptile- that is to say I have my first JCP (female), which I've had now for and is about 15 months old. I live in AZ and found a frog/toad (don't know difference- doesn't appear to be poisonous though) in my back yard. I'm wondering if anyone knows whether or not this would be on the menu for my JCP. Is it something I could just try, or should I not take the chance? Just curious if anyone knows...thanks in advance.

i would stick to rodents. If you feed the frog to the jcp, it might not want to switch to rodents. finding frogs to feed a snake is sometimes difficult. besides, i dont think a frog has the nutrients that a rodent has, espescially rodents either bred by yourself or by top breeders (rodentpro).

I agree. I would stick to rodents. They are so cheap and readily available.

Personally, I leave the Wild-Caught food for the Wild-caught reptiles - except that i feed wild insects to all my lizards.

- just my opinion
