Olympia laid her eggs!

tra3 May 06, 2006 01:14 PM

Hellooooo everyone! Congratulate me! Olympia laid 12 eggs today. I am going to Marcias site for advise on incubating. Seh seems tired and thin, but I did see her go to her bowl and drnk quite a bit of water. This is our first clutch. My boy and I are thrilled. And very proud of Olympia!

Olympia produced one more egg, retreated to her water bowl all afternoon, and then she climbed a branch as if nothing had ever happened. She covered her eggs, and that was that. We now have them in an incubator, per Marcia's instructions. What a neat experience. I will post pics on Monday.

Congratulations! To you and to Olympia! Very exciting and wonderful to hear that the event was uneventful! That is just as it should be. ; )

Just a tip
Use a container that provides volume, a shallow container will be less stable then a deep container. Volume allows a better stability of temperatures and humidity. I like these because I can se the water line, sins I check on them every few days this allows some evaporation, I don’t need to add water with this set up, and if I do I can see it.
