probing depth ?

mikean May 06, 2006 02:09 PM

Just wondering what depths the probes are likely to reach for sexing coachwhips.

I have one female that goes to only 2, one male that almost takes your wrist and arm and one unknown which goes to 5.

I'd like to find out what the 5 is likely to be so I can look for a mate as its a very nice red morph.

Mike

I don't know what these numbers are that you mentioned but females are very shallow and not more than 5/8" or less on young ones and males..I have a 90" male that the probe will go in 2".....JB

Sorry I should have said. the numbers are scale count depths. So I was wondering if my red/pink is a male based on a scale count depth of 5.

males are to one extream, (very deep) and females are to the total other extream, (very shallow) not easy to confuse. males also have a distinctive buldge directly following the anal plate and females don't seem to have the intencity that males have and just don't look as mad... or bad....JB
