Crayfish & Parasites

I'm almost sure this has been asked before, but are petshop crayfish worth feeding for variety- or are they too loaded with parasites??

(How about tadpoles)?

We are just facing a worldwide amphibian crisis: Im not happy with amphibians as food for small crocs.

OK, forget about the tadpoles (I was thinking of the bullfrog tadpoles that they sell at Petco), how 'bout the crayfish? Does anyone feed them??

I don't buy crayfish at a pet store, but I do get wild caught ones from time to time and have no qualms about feeding them to my animals. I also feed them live blue crabs, they love them. They eat some nasty stuff in the wild and to the best of my knowledge, nobody checks it for parasites first.
