How do You measure your snake(s)?

since none of mine ever lay straight no matter how many times i tell them to, i figure thers got to be an easier way that measuring curved segments or playing the guessing game. would love to get some meauring techniques/methods from everyone. thanks.

I think there are a couple of different snake measuring softwares out there. Several people I know have said these things work very well.
This is the first one I found when I went looking via google. Be sure to get a shot of the snake from square above to eliminate parallax error. You could also put a ruler on either side of the snake and use the software with both known distances to limit the error.

they are either cloth or nylon flexible rulers.
