My DH & are both adjunct college teachers, off & on. I haven't been teaching this semester but he has. He's so busy with a full time job then teaching on top of that, I am sad to say that I STILL don't have my box turtle pen built. He claims that since this coming week is finals week he'll get that pen built one way or another when school is out.
Sooooo
I've been having to supervise my girls when they go outside because I don't have the pen.
Yesterday I had them outside & I let Shell E take a walk in the yard while the other 2 girls were blocked off on the porch. I can't keep track of them if I let them all walk the yard at the same time so they have to take turns.
Shell E started walking directly to the tree that she remembers always had a puddle around it last summer. When I realized she was headed for it I ran to get the water turned on for her so she could soak... even though she'd already had a bath before she went outside.
As I headed for the tree with the water I blinked. In a blink Hobo was right behind her. He'd been in the burrow he stays in most of the time & shot out of there like a cannon when he saw a girl walk by. I could not believe how fast that boy can move! I was really surprised by that.
Sad to say for Hobo I took the girl away from him. He enjoyed a nice soak though & then he got a meal so he was happy when it was all over.
They are so awesome!
