What are the odds that this egg will make it. They are at about day 40ish - and this little guy started to get a window which I promply covered with liquid bandage but the window spread outside the LB - so I've reapplied the bandage to the window and the surrounding area - I've just done that which is why it appears wet in the photo. I don't see any mold just the window - if you look at the close up you can see the snake inside the egg (and count his stripes) and he does appear to be responsive and is for now still alive and wiggling around.

What are the odds that this guy will make it and if he does will I need to cut him an opening to get out of that liquid bandaged egg?

Thanks!

I would think about cutting the egg open, it doesn't look good.
How much of the egg suface is covered with LB? The egg almost looks like a slug, did it always look like that or did it just start to change color? At day 40 they are pretty well developed, but the longer you can wait the better, since it probably still will not start breathing air until day 55-60.

No it was white and perfect up until a couple of days ago - the entire top (the discolored portion) is covered with the LB now - the bottom is still very white - apparently the window didn't spread that far around the egg.

There is a snake wiggling around inside so it's definately not a slug.

Thanks!

Maybe too much moisture for this one egg, but it doesn't look overly plump or anything. I say leave it alone unless you think it is in danger. If your lucky, it will go full term without intervention. The little guy is probably OK, if you notice any mold or the egg start to seep, then you'll have to do something.

Good luck!

First let me say that I have no experience with snake eggs yet.

That being said the one comment I have is that I'd be worried to put liquid bandage on more than half the egg. Hopefully it will not spread that far, but I'd become concerned about air exchange since the air has to get through the shell.

Like I said have not even had a clutch, just Bio classes, figure you know this stuff already, and bow to others more experienced than I.
