It's illegal to bring any venomous across state lines into Maryland.
Of the native species found within maryland...
Timbers are protected species and unless you are some big time researcher with a good accredited facility backing you up or a good educational facility wanting a display animal you won't qualify for an endangered species permit.
The only other venomous native is n/s copperheads. Therefore you are reduced to only bring able to own them to keep as a pet since it's the only venemous you can legally have in Maryland when you look closely at the laws.
For copperheads, they aren't under any special protection. You'd have to catch them within the state yourself (remember no crossing state lines with hots). You can leagally have up to 4 of them before needing a permit. You couldn't breed them unless you kept all of the offspring.. illegal to release cb animals into the wild and it's illegal to sell, trade, barter, etc. any venomous therefore can't sell out of state cause then you'd be going across state lines.
