Time to move

Findaratot May 07, 2006 11:50 PM

Hey everyone, long time no post.
anyway I'm going to be moving in a couple of months and I am starting to think of the best ways to transfer my chameleon to our new home. He is a 2 year old veiled chameleon that I've had since he was a week old (where does the time go?). I've never had to move with him before and I want to make sure he doesn't get overstressed or over heated. It will be a 2 hour drive, so I'm not too worried, but I'd still like to make the trip as easy for him as possible. I'd like to hear from anyone who has done this before. thanks for the help.

I just moved about 2 months ago and people on here gave me some wonderful advice. I used a box with a tea towel (no loops) on the bottom, and secured a stick in there to cling to. My trip was 4-5 hours and it worked pretty well. He did try to get out some of the time, but I may have let some light in there (whoops!) and he could tell he was in a box.

Hopefully they will chime in with tips as well, but I hope I got you started anyway!

Good luck with your move!

Hey,

I just made a move as well, though my drive was about 2 days long, LOL. I put both my chameleons (Male Panther and Veiled) in seperate, cardboard boxes with a dampened paper towel, and a branch for them to grasp to (Just like Kris) I actually stayed at a hotel one night and put them in the shower for a good 30 minutes apiece so they could get rehydrated- worked out well. Just make sure your chameleon gets plenty of water before his little journey, and two hours in the car is no sweat.

Not Kris, I meant to say waspinator421. I always get you two mixed up for some reason. Haha.

It must be because they both have an "s" in their names.
