I always refer to this action as rape. Over the years I've noticed that my brooksi and cal king males were very aggressive breeders. Every year they chew up the females by biting them and basically holding them down and raping them. My female cal king (albino) would show the marks for a couple of sheds and then clean up just like it never happened. My brooksi, like yours, are not visual morphs. Their pattern hides all the scale damage.

Yours is a anthropromorphic(sp) discription is guess. (human values placed on animals)

Actually you should think about what is normal to the snakes, then relate that to a discription.

Biting is very normal for many genus and specie of kingsnake. Its not aggressive, its what they do normally.

Some specie do this, some do not. Some individuals do this, some do not.

"Aggressive" would be something like the male constricting the female to intice her to copulate. I have seen these a few times that resulted in successful reproduction. "Overly aggressive" would be when harm or death is inflicted on the female. Of course this happens as well.

You must understand, they are not you. what you consider aggressive does not pertain to them, not in the least. Cheers

Thanx Pat. i really appreciate the complement.

one thing though there is a forum member referred to as "Zee" with the user name "Blueking" i believe... i can see why it would be a bit confusing since my 1st initial is "Z" ... i'd just hate for some one to take offense to you referring to me as "Zee" rather than "Z" or "ZF".

Thanx again
