Miami/Appalachian?

wolfwoman May 08, 2006 09:25 AM

Hello,
I bought a pair of miami phase corn snakes at the NH show last month. The female is a miami, but the vendor told me the male was a miami/appalachian phase. I have never heard of this, have any of you? I'm curious what that means exactly.
They look exactly alike, eat well and have great temperments.
They are about 5 months old.
Any input is appreciated.
Thanks!

I'm an old herp guy, starting an interest in corns.

But I did not know the appalachians went so far south to Miami?

Generally the far the north I thought less color, I may be wrong, but I said in general so I'm covered lol

But if there is an appalachian/miami phase, I'm coming up with Cleveland/grand canyon rat snake.

The corn morphs are the easiest really. Most simple recessive genes. The ball pythons and boas and lordy the Leos. I can not rememeber all this info when most is bad anyways.

Unless your in some very particular breeding project I tell people buy something they like.

I would like to see a pic of the snake. Some of the miamis are quite nice.

Here are the pics of my newest additions. One pic has both of them, the snake closest to the bottom of the picture is in shed, so she is a little dull.
The other picture is of the supposed miami/appalachian. It's not the best picture. I don't know how you guys take such nice pictures of your snakes, mine won't sit still!
