Black Flys and Hissing while eating

captotterboy May 08, 2006 02:51 PM

Hey,
I let some of the pheonix worms turn into flys and i have let them loose in charlies cage. SO far i think he has been a little confused by them, having never eaten anything flying before. however there are less in there now than when i first put them in.

Also, i have noticed that charlie does a little hiss at superworms when he eats them. They seem to be his favorite food and whenever he grabs one his does a quick hiss like a cat does when playing with its favorite toy. Its actually kinda funny. He does love his superworms!!!! even more than crickets or waxworms.

I've noticed that little hiss when they are retracting or extending their tongues. I think it's sort of a reflex related to the tongue shooting muscle sequence.

maybe.

By the way, the black flys are emerging and i put a few in the cage with them... and he goes after them with ENERGY man. he loves them.

Thanks for the help,
Jeff
