May Sound Dumb But What Sould I Do?!

OneTwoManyHerps Jul 30, 2003 06:38 PM

My vet called me back and said that they did everything they could to fix my leos prolapse and refered that i go to Madison, WI which is about a 2 1/2 hr drive and get it fixed there. Now i think the vet may have forgoten that they didn't amputate it but just stitched it up and befor they said they could remove it so that may mean they can still do it, but if they can't what should i do? I know the price is going to be outrageous compared to their 150-235. Let me know thanks!

I hate to sound unkind but I think euthanasia is the answer here. If this animal has a genetic weakness like this, it shouldn't be in te proverbial gene pool. Use te money not spent at the vet to replace it and call it a learning experience.

remove it like they said they could and they just forgot to tell me they could, i hate the thought of killing a liveing thing if it can be treated. Anyways what would i have to do to euthanize it?

there is no reason to put it to sleep just because it has prolapse. the one pictured below had the surgery done...i posted below about it...it was about 175 up here.he is very healthy and recovered quickly. stitches came out with his first shed after the surgery.

That's when an organ that is supposed to be inside, is outside.
