Male not eating

kohrn May 08, 2006 04:14 PM

My male snake is boycotting all food. He doesn't really appear thin, but it's been months since he's eaten. Yes, I know, it's that time of year, but how long should I let him go before I worry. (I've been offering F/T mice weekly, and he sometimes strikes, but then lets go). He lives alone, but there is a female (who we're not breeding this year) in the house, and he may smell (?) her. Should I try to tempt him with live, or is this a path I don't want to tread? (I prefer to feed frozen). He appears healthy other than not eating.

If you are really worried then you might try live. As long as he is not getting too thin you should just wait it out though. IMO
