Cage size question for yearling Leucy...

hefte May 08, 2006 06:16 PM

I had a snake die this weekend that I've had for a long time. First snake I've ever had die actually. The cage, which has been cleaned, is 4'X 4' X 2.5'. It held a large adult Boiga. I have a yearling Leucy, about two feet long, maybe a little less, and about as wide as my index finger. Do you think she'd get lost in that size cage, should I wait until she gets bigger. I know some snakes, like my Blood, prefer smaller enclosures. Wasn't sure about Rats. Any help would be greatly appreciated, and thanks in advance, Eric-

Rat snakes like large cages. With them, the bigger the better.

Sorry about your snake dieing. if you put branches etc in it for this snake they will use all of the enclosure and love it . You will love seeing them climb, etc.
