A couple days ago, I went into the my reptile room in my home and I found a reptile that was not part of my collection. I have seen them in the field and a couple months ago I submitted a picture of one that was caught in my neighborhood, but this is the first time I have seen a snake in my yard or home that was not 'mine.' My yard and home are escape resistant, which makes entry equally difficult, but this one came in.
Here it is after capture (Naja kaouthia).

Here are some from this morning during release. It was released in an area away from human habitation, not far (200-300m) from where I once had an adult crawl right up on me in my hide while observing Varanus salvator.

Contrary to the two photos, it rarely hooded and was the most calm wild Naja that I have ever encountered; they tend to be very nervous snakes in the field or shortly after capture.

Where I chased it to: good leaf litter, trees and shrubs- some safety for the little Naja kaouthia.

I receive a bit of criticism for not killing them, even though the people here are very considerate of all living things (because of the danger that Naja poses).

Cheers,
Michael
