New Acanthosaura specie

FroggieB May 08, 2006 08:32 PM

So, did anyone else see it? Of course we are all aware of the fact that they are out there. We have been seeing unusual MHDs for years that just don't fit the 4 named specie. So in reptiles magazine there is a short blurb with a beautiful head shot of this absolutely beautiful animal that looks very much like an A. capra with extremely long spines and hornes, head shaped more like A. armata, gray in color with brick red stripes on the neck, face and gular pouch and the spines are also brick colored. Fantastic! Named Acanthosaura nataliae.

So, I did a search just to see if I could find anything on the net. All I could find were about half a dozen articles about a new species Acanthosaura nataliae which is a type of salamander. I think someone got that wrong! But, I did find this one site that of course I can't read, but it has a very poor, small photo. [url

Just someone might be interested!
