OK - so how would I get to a hyperxanthic corn? I've been trying to figure this one out, 5 years!

Hypoxanthic -- ought to be taxicab yellow...

Got that mixed up -- ought to be HYPER...the snake ought to be bright taxicab or banana yellow in it's entirety.

Sounds to me as if you want a really good blood red that is yellow instead of red. I'm not sure that is possible yet.

Have you checked out butters? Putting butter into a blood red stock might be even closer, or it might have too much of an orange tint.

I say take one of Don's butters (as yellow as they get) and try to make a patternless cross. But that still wouldn't be a true hypoxanthic.

Thanks Mr Hollander, I really appreciate you taking the time to answer. By "yellow bloodred", would that be an Amel Bloodred?

Paul Hollander May 10, 2006 12:15 PM

Paul, please. Mr. Hollander is at death's door, knocking loudly.

I think that if you combined amelanistic and caramel in a blood red stock, you'd be most likely to get a good yellow. But the more mutants that you try to put together, the longer the process takes.

"Butter" is the trade name for the combination of amelanistic and caramel. You should look at some of the pictures of butters on the net. It might be satisfactory, or it might be a little softer than you want.

Good luck.

You need to get Zee's Golden corn and breed it to an Amel Bloodred.
