Catching tadpoles in a pond ??

xthunder May 08, 2006 11:18 PM

A friend of mine owns a pond that is loaded with large bullfrog tadpoles, 4" plus. They are building there this summer and plan on filling this pond in. Is there a way to catch these tadpoles with "set" nets or traps. You can catch some with long handled nets, but the shore lines are deep, and very little cover along the edges to sneak up. Every year, i spend a few hours or so and catch about 100 for my large garden pond. But i was wondering if someone may have any ideas to catch these in bulk.
Thanks,

Yup, skimming with a large pole net would probably be your best bet. You wouldnt happen to be in Seminole county FL would you?
