A while back someone gave me soem minumum measurments for what my Boas would need as adults. This was 4 feet long X 24" tall X 24" wide "EACH" This is just about the mesurments of m y 55G enclosures. they are 4 feet long 11" wide and 20" tall. Would this be suitable? I cant remember the website but I read that if I slow the feeding down a little then it would effectivly make them stay smaller as adults "This dosnt make since to me but thats how I understood it and I think it was redtailboas.com where I read that. Thanks agan. I posted this because I didnt get any replys to my post below on the same topic. Thanks agan

11" wide and 24" wide. A 55 gallon aquarium will house you boa for a while, but extra floor space would be much appreciated. Even a 4.5' or 5' small male would be tight in a 55 gallon aquarium. Also, boas (BCI and BCC) are terrestrial. They appreciate surface area, not height. If you have an option between a tall cage and a wide cage, get the wide cage. Your boa will grow slowly if not fed weekly. That just makes sense. If you ate half while you were growing up, would you have grown as quickly? The boa may still get big, but not as quickly as a boa fed more often. And females usually get much larger than males. When it is time to upgrade, look at boa specific cages. Not only are they made for boas, much are more economical than buying a 125 gallon or larger aquarium. Good luck with your boa.
