Kevin, if your so concerned with those Boca Grande iguanas (similis) getting killed and setting up a sanctuary for them, why would you ask Manny to supply you with iguanas (pectinata) from the Miami area that are safe. Wouldn't you rather use your 2000 s/f for lizards you are going to capture in Boca Grande and save from being euthanized?

Dear Mark

The residents of a 1/2 mile by 8 mile island community on western side of Florida is overrun by Ctenosaura similis......they have decided to get rid of them.......history of what I have been saying is in the article posted about a week ago and more can be read at www.bocabeacon.com website.....solution I offered to the town was to relocate some of the population by connecting trappers with reptile supply houses........save some in isolated areas like the light house aere at end of island for eco tourism......and then they asked if a repellant spray could be developed to repell Ctenosaura from specific areas to save gopher tortoise habitat......is a complicated situation however there is a solution if those who can help.......will help........and lend some help to this so the town doesnt simply start shooting or trapping for euthanasia

This is a Ctenosaura Groupsite and the Boca Grande is only one of many Ctenosaura situations in Florida

There has to be some reasonable solution as another town on the mainland across from Boca Grande has ran a story about iguanas now also

Solution oriented so am only interested in hearing about solutions to the problem and how to solve in the best interests of all concerned

hope this answers question

Thanks

Kevin Schneider
