Is this a Durango Mountain King?

This was sold to me as a Durango but is it? and is a Variable King the same thing? thanks.

That looks like a Thayeri (or Variable King) to me. Durango Mountain Kings(or Greeri), like Variable Kings, are both subspecies of Lampropeltis Mexicana.

It looks almost exactly like the snake (my first one, yay!) I just got 3 days ago that was sold to me as a thayeri, but I think mine's actually a durango mt kingsnake after looking at many of them. Try the mexicana forum about him, they've really been a huge help to me. If that's what yours is, mine must be that too. Here's Arella:
