okay i have a female fattail gecko and she appeared gravid a couple of weeks back. now she has not layed her eggs, does not dig, and has not eaten. her tail has gotten thiner and her
belly bigger, i cant make out eggs anymore. i am getting really worried and i am assuming she may be egg binding. does anyone have some good advice. yes i have heard of the warm soaks but i need a little more detail of what and how to do it. how long to leave her in the water, how to massage her belly, blah blah. i need details because i dont want to do something that might not be getting done the right way. thanks in addvance. OH YA, this is NOT her first season of eggs so i dont know why she would have any problems. please help. this is what she did look like......

Hi, one of my Leopard Geckos was egg bound about 6 weeks ago, however, I knew for sure what was wrong with her because she had and egg sticking out of her vent and couldn't push it out. She was straining but couldn't get it. I just run some barely warm water in the sink and set her back end into it. You also might need to oil her vent, you can use Extra Virgin Olive Oil for this or another cooking oil. I moved her to a sweater box with paper towels so she wouldn't get anything on her vent area while it was oily. I soaked her for longer than usual and then oiled her up real good. On the way back to her sweater box she pushed her stomach against my hand and the egg came flying out. She lost a lot of weight and her tail got really skinny. I took her to a vet because she wasn't getting any better. She wasn't eating and hadn't pooped in days. A lot of urate was continually running out though. He put her on a antibiotic for a week and I don't think that helped her but he also gave her something to reduce the swelling in her vent area and that did help. She is still really thin and won't eat on her own, so I've been giving her a small amount of chicken or beef baby food with calcium mixed in. I still soak her and that is when she poops. If you don't have a reptile vet you might be able to find one in your area at www.arav.com.
