Question for Christyj ...

Hello Christy ~

I read your response to Ryan's question about his dragon not pooping very often. You said that it can be normal if the dragon is an adult. I have always wondered about that. I have two adult male beardies that don't poop nearly as often as the younger ones. One male beardie that I rescued 6 months ago used to poop for me every day. Then it was every other day. Now he spaces them out 7 or 8 days sometimes. He hates, I mean HATES, baths! But if he goes passed 7 days then he gets a bath. I try to soak him until he goes - usually 10 - 15 minutes in warm water with a soft belly massage. His fecals have been checked - all clear. He eats veggies daily, an occasional super or wax worm, and basks under a Zoomed Powersun merc. vapor bulb most of the day. His basking spot reaches 105 and the cool side is around 80.

I'm pretty sure I'm doing everything right, I've always wondered about older beardies pooping less frequently. It would ease my mind to know that this is normal. You always have great advice for people and I feel very comfortable knowing that you are always around to help others! THANK YOU!!!

Thanks for your time!

Veronica

P.S. Thanks for pointing out that error on my website - I fixed it. =D

Thanks for the kind words...
Only one of my adults is a daily pooper. Most of them go 1-2x a week. Some don't like to go in their enclosure, some just don't go daily just because. One thing for sure, I'm always amazed at how much they can hold!!! I swear, sometimes it looks like they are hiding a beagle in the tank! LOL!!
