Question about a hatchling rack.

zach_whitman May 10, 2006 12:01 AM

I haven't bred leos in years so I thought I would ask you guys.

I just finished building a hatchling rack for my colubrids. I was wondering if you though that it might also be usable as temporary housing for hatchling leos. Here are the specs.

Boxes are 12 long, 3 wide, 2 high. There is heat rope routered into each shelf to provide a belly heat temp gradient of about 16 degrees. Houses 20 babies in just over a cubic foot.

well im assuming that is 16 degrees Celcius. i dont know if its the same as 16 C but leos should be right around 90 f, 88f-92f would be good. well it looks really nice to me you jut have to watch to see when your babies start looking cramped and confined, they grow pretty quick if you are doing everything right. you should also allow one of the ends of the enlcosure to be a little cooler then the warm end, maybe arround 79-80 if possible. if you lived near by you would be hired for shelfs
