Hi,

I will be coming to NYC in a week and was wondering if anyone could recommend a good shop/public collection for me to visit?

It will be my first time in the States and I'd love to see some of your animals in the flesh and see how you do things.

...I am a small town boy and I had it set in my mind that I would hate New York City. I spent a week there in 1992 and had a great time. There is so much to see and do. I just got on the subway and/or walked all over the city. A week was not enough. The Bronx Zoo was great. The only commercial reptile place I visited was New York Reptilia. They had what were very impressive animals at that time. I still see them advertise occasionally but know nothing about what sort of business they have today. There is a breeder on Long Island who bought Rainbow Boas from me in 1993 and 1994 and was breeding and selling them a few years later. Check the ads here on kingsnake.com for people advertising from the NYC area.

We were thinking of going to the Bronx Zoo. there's only so much architecture and culture I can take! I'm a country type too!!

Will definitely look up a few shops before we go so I can take 'detours' without my partner knowing where we're going!
