We posted a picture of this girl when she was glowing before her ovulation. She laid five good eggs today. We were only expecting three or four from this girl. This is her first clutch ever. The eggs weigh 400 grams and she lost 607 grams since the beginning of breeding season. She went off feed in the first week of September and just laid today!! I can't wait to get her eating again. She is pretty thin looking but is a good feeder and should bounce back just fine. This was our first year breeding ball pythons. Two out of three that we paired with males laid eggs for us. The girl that did not ovulate was only 1500 grams and 2 1/2 yrs old. The two that bred were older females. The other girl gave us eight eggs but one recently went bad. This was kind of our warm up year for breeding balls. Thanks to all that gave us help along the way and thanks to the members of this forum that are always willing to share their knowledge. We are looking forward to next year when we will have many more females up to size and will be breeding pieds, albinos, pastels, ijcp, and hypo boas.
