What type of chuck is this?

bluethunder May 10, 2006 02:15 PM

This is a pair of chucks that came from the Palm Springs area. The male is certainly different looking than the redback I have. It is very light, almost white as you can see from the pics. Notice the traces of orange on it's back. Anyone have an idea what variety this might be...or are male chucks from this area commonly this light? Thanks

Tony

I think that you have a typical Palm Springs chuck. I have a pair and they are pretty bland. I've had them for at least 12 years. They never changed color.

Thanks for the information. Could you post a pic of your Palm Springs chucks...I am interested to see what they look like after you have had them 12 years. How big is your male?

It is hard to tell from the light but he should have washed out red /orange reticulations on the back. Go from there southwest toward San Diego and they loose the reticulations and are pretty much white/gray. Awesome looking animals. Tom
