oh wait...there was no help. i received my female cuban rock iguana this week and have her in a quarentine enclosure. my large male saw her through his enclosure window and looked like he wanted to eat her. i would, at some point, like to introduce the two. if anyone could give some advice, it would be appreciated. thanks

What I do each year is put a smaller wire cage inside the males cage and just let them get use to each other for a while. Usually the initial shock of another lizard subsides in 3 to 5 days. Then open the lid and let the female out at her leisure. Mine are outdoors, so I don't need to provide a second heat source except in the hide box. You will, if they are kept indoors. When she leaves her cage, watch them closely. The male may bite the back of the females neck and try to mate. Let them do this, because once the male mates a few times, he'll mellow out some, kick back and have a cigarette. If he grabs her and violently shakes her, remove her because this is not a mating behavior.
