I have had an Irian Jaya who was a wonderful snake. Very tame. And I now have a Jungle who is also tame; I've never been bitten. But he's a new addition, so I'm still kind of untrusting of him.

For a REAL docile, beautiful snake, you can't go wrong with a Bredli. (Centrilian Carpet) They grow to a nice size, without being monsters, and they colors really begin to show as they age.

My '05 male has been a total joy from day 1. They're also from the super extreme's of central AU, so are extremely hardy.

Oh yeah- they eat like PIGS, too! 8-D

It depends what age you would like to get of course, it is always nice to start off with a baby, unless you want to breed soon. I got my irian jaya for $70. He is awesome, was a bit snippy at first, but thanks to some help from the folks on here, he is nice to handle, compared to my blood he can move! Look around, dont buy from a joker.

No- yearlings usually sell for anywhere from $150 - $300 or so. I paid $175 for my male- got him from Nick Mutton. Nick breeds KILLER ones- all Price line, and this year he's going to be breeding the Lazik's, too:

i've had a male jungle carpet for over a year. he still bites. mind you i don't handle him as much as i should, but he bites me! its a vicious circle i know. i’ve thought about just getting ride of his ass and getting a corn snake, but those are boring and my snake is just getting so pretty it’s sick. every shed is more, brighter yellow.

guess i should break down and make a commitment to hold him more. i bet if i held him every day for a month i could break him.

now if I can just get him to eat a fuzzy rat…
