Comparing Manuals

So, it's high time I pick up a copy of DeVosjoli's "Ball Python Manual." Have you found any significant differences between the 2005 and the 1996 editions? The latter is way cheaper, but if important husbandry or medical opinions have changed since 1996 I'll spring for the newer edition. Any thoughts?

Thanks,
Emily

Mine is the '96 edition. I haven't gone through the newer one so I can't help you there, but I would get the newer version, they may have updated some bits. And if you want to splurge on yourself at some point, I highly recommend The Complete Ball Python book written last year by Kevin McCurley aka NERD. It's the best book out there on ball pythons and worth every penny. You can go to the NERD site and order it, here's the link NERD

It's ok. I think the only thing updated are pictures of the new morphs.
My favorite manual is still "Ball Pythons Habitat, Care and Breeding"By Stefan Broghammer. It also has been updated with new pictures of morphs, and has alot of interesting Data on Bp's In Africa. google it and you can find several places to buy it from.

Also VPI is putting out a new book this year which should blow EVERYTHING ELSE out of the water. I'd wait for this to come out (if you can)before buying one of the more investment priced Books. Personally I feel you can never have enough books, and there are many ways to skin a cat. It's great to ahve more than one point of view on the subject.

Good luck with what ever you choose.
