WISN (Milwaukee, Wisconsin) 10 May 06 Police Find Snake, Lizards In Waukesha Apartment
Waukesha, Wis.: When police showed up to arrest a Waukesha man at his apartment for a probation violation on Friday, they discovered an illegal collection of reptiles.
Police called in animal control, which hauled out three monitor lizards. Each was more than 3 feet long.
They also found a 3-foot iguana and other smaller animals.
But, what was most alarming for his neighbors was a venomous Pacific rattlesnake, which experts said posed a real danger, 12 News reported.
The snakes and lizards violate Waukesha's ban on wild and exotic animals.
The owner is expected to face numerous citations.
The animals have since been moved to a Chicago-based group which will find them new, more suitable homes.
