Hi,

I've kept this guy in a large wood box cage with a transparent door since he was a tiny baby. Recently I found a thick piece of oak branch with intact bark, that I layed in his habitat from a bottom corner to a top corner (the cage has a huge door). Now the lizard spends all his time crammed in at the top, bent and squished to get as far up as possible. He seens rather desperate. Any comments? What would it take to make him feel more secure?

I'm thinking I should put a ring of wild wood around the top of the cage. There is an unused cage on top of his cage, I;m thinking of putting a three inch hole through both of them and giving him access to both cages.

Roger

Hopefully I'm visualizing your post correctly

Have you thought of using flexible pvc irrigation tubing with slits for airflow? Cut to length and lay at the cage bottom. I've seen that used with success recently.
