Flavia,

Nice picture shot and nice skink.

Based on this picture:

Your PTS appears to be a sub-adult-This may affect the C/A Biometric result.

As it stands, given the above, and remember, this should not be the sole method to go by,....

C/A Biometric Ratio = .79 A male.

If you need any help, Let me know privately or post in the forum.
I'm sure i speak for everyone in saying we'd be more than happy to help you.

Take care,
Brian

Flavia,

Another opinion from the SFCRC -not using the C/A method-but 'gut feeling' from years of experience was a guess of being a female -largely based on the head size. I took that into consideration too. But the head has a Paedomorphic look-(which adult females retain to a lesser degree) great enough that a juvenile status would swing the pendulum to the male side.

We'll just have to wait and see!

Sincerely,

Sometimes i feel my baby is a female too, although i dont know why.Well, i used to think that one of my iguanas, Shena, was a female until "she" exposed his hemipenes!lol!!

I dont understand the methods you describe to sex the MTS.They sound soo complicated!

I dont understand my baby MTS routine either! Now its 8:35 PM and when i went to his cage to take him to watch tv with me he was sleeping inside his hiding spot!!No, he was not pretending!lol!Sometimes he spends the whole day awake (although not moving) and sleeps like a child during the night!
But he only eats at night, after 6PM.

Hey Flavia,

On Ig's, There are many ways to tell M/F, Easiest are the big Femoral pores on the males (Under back thighs-they are scent glands to mark territory) Monkey Skinks -being Skinks-have no Femoral pores. They use another expedient-The males secrete a waxy substance to mark their territories.

The C/A Biometric Ratio---> Width of head/width of widest girth in mid section. C=caput(Head) A=Ambitus (Girth)

Corucia's may sometimes get their day's and night's mixed up, but they are consistently crepuscular when eating and the females always give birth at night.

Catch Ya later,

Brian
