this is the wild garter that I posted abought earlier. We found this snake outside two days ago and it hasn't eaten yet. any thoughts?

this is the wild garter that I posted abought earlier. We found this snake outside two days ago and it hasn't eaten yet. any thoughts?



try feeding it a day after it sheds (it's about to - see its eyes?).

That looks like a valley garter, thamnophis sirtalis fitchi. He is getting ready to shed. His eyes will clear up and he will shed 2 to 3 days after that. He will be ready to eat then.
is there anything special i should do for him while he(?) is shedding? heat, light, etc....
not really, just a large enough water bowl for him to soak in if he wants to.
