i just noticed some swelling on one of my adult female garters.the swollen area is above tail near cloaca,she is acting normal, any advice before a vet visit would be great.

A pic would help.... Is the swelling before the cloaca, towards the head side??? Has she had a chance to breed?? How far does the swelling go? If she has bred, the swelling would extend about a third of the way up her body.....

i got a better look this am.. the swelling is right at the cloaca..very red and inflammed. soaked her for about ten min. and then noticed some slight bleeding from the inflamation..i am going to make some calls today to see when i can get her looked at.

yea, that sounds like something a vet needs to take care of!!
