UTH vs. Heat Emitter/heat lamp

mkco79 May 11, 2006 08:58 PM

Just wanted some opinions on the three different types of heating sources. What do you prefer and any pro's and con's you may have.

Thanks all!

i have a UTH on a rheostat, which i like bc it is about 8watts and costs me about $4 a year. plus belly heat is nice...

i also use a 60W ceramic heater, which i also like bc it has a bit more power to it, but doesnt give off light, so the 12/12 is easier. the cage is also in my bedroom so this doesnt keep me awake either...

never used a lamp...

how about you?

I use a UTH hooked up to a t-stat aswell. I use a lamp hooked up to a timer during the day for the heat and also just to give that light cycle affect, sometimes we close our blinds and dont reopen them all day so i figure that the lamp might help with the light cycle.
