Baby question

DeanBright May 11, 2006 09:46 PM

Hi,
My babies have been eating for a few days now. I noticed today that one of them isn't walking like the other. Instead of walking on its feet it walks on its fore arms. The first time I fed them I noticed one was a little twitchy so they have been getting calcium, they haven't had any more problems with the twitchieness. About the walking problem, is it normal? What should I do?

Thanks,
Morgan

What like crawling? Backlegs too? Weird. Just first thing that comes to mine is calcium but already doing now. Might be like the runt of the group just alittle weak from the hatch or the goofball of the bunch acting alittle silly.

I sure hope he/she will be ok. Got anymore pics of the group?
Best wishes to your babys.

Morgan, due to the fact you are seeing twitchiness in one baby I would have to say the lil guy walking on his forarms has some sort of calcium defientcy also.

Have to get some calcium in these guys. I use a liquid calcium syrup for these kinds of problems. And if at all posssible get them in the sunlight as much as ya can as soon as ya can. Hope your using a good UVB light (on their tank also)

ALSO make sure you give MOM some extra calcium right now as she got ZAPPED from the eggs and must also be in NEED !

Let us know how the kids do

ive caught a retarded collared before, he had a hunch back, a messed up looking tail and i dont think he was all there mentaly...its possible that yours could be that way? or it could just be you need to stick the babys in the REAL sunlight for a month or so

This morning I mixed some calcium powder with water. I mixed it fairly thick. I used a pipette and put a drop on his mouth, and he ate it. he ate some off of the pipette too. I got him to eat quite a bit. It worked well, so I did the same thing with the other one also. The one that was having problems is looking better. He has his eyes open more and isn't sleeping as much. I'm hoping to take them out side today.
