I currently have 2 maps. Both are the same age (almost 2 years old). The one is perfectly fine. The second has never grown as big as the other (he is about half the size of the other turtle), and has some kind of shell problem. I do not think it is shell rot, based off what I have read. There is never any puss and the shell is not soft in the bad areas. I am including a pic below. The shell is just basically discolored in certain areas. This is not something that happened overnight. At first it was just in one spot but it has spread. I have tried giving him sulfa dips and I have some ointment that I have tried that is supposed to condition his shell but nothing has worked. Any info you guys could provide would be appreciated. If there is nothing I can do for him personally to take care of the problem then I am going to take him to the vet on Monday. This week I have him in a 10 gallon tank by himself only allowing him in water to rehydrate for about 90 minutes a day.
