My breeder western fox male is a well documented biter during mating. But up until now he usually restricts this habit to the neck of his girlfriend. Well now he is getting less selective. I usually throw another male into the mating enclosure to spark a strong breeding response. This usually works very well with both eastern and western foxsnakes. Today for the first time I observed the male latch onto the other male behind the head. After a little while he let go and to avoid any trouble I removed the extra male. After this the male was strongly aroused and chased the female around the cage and started copulating. But instead of biting the female behind the head, he latched onto himself about halfway down his own body. This occurred while he continued to copulate with the female. I've got to keep this guy away from the internet. I think he must be visiting some questionable sites.
