Remember the TX indigo eating the Cal King?

Well, if you recall, she is (was) a 15 yr old, 5' snake.
I just thought I'd post a pic of her first baby hatching!

Still throwing good eggs (and 13 of them) after all these years.

Shame though...she was my experient to see just how long a snake could keep reproducing.

Are you gonna keep one of the hatchlings for sentimental value?

I'm really happy for you Dino. I was so hoping I would get babies from the last clutch that my Eastern Indigo Female that died a few months ago, but it's looking like all those eggs that were fertile, may not make it.

I'm happy for you... and a little jealous.

john metlzer [pituophis forum] has a 23 year old n. pine that laid again this year. i believe she has been retired now though. i cannot recall any records right off the bat that exceed this snake's production.....cribo update: 1 out of 24 ate voluntarily. lol! but why am i laughing? this is a major pia!!! :-/

Cool! That's at least some small consolation. Maybe you can start the experiment over with one of these hatchlings. You're still young enough....
