Do Bull snakes get heat stroke?

nechushtan Jul 30, 2003 09:47 PM

I just got my first snake today (a baby "snow" bull) and it just happens to be close to 100 F. in our neck of the woods. I know the ideal temperature is in the 80's for them, but how hearty are they in the higher and lower temps? I've forgone the heat pad and light for now but she has spent the whole day in her hidey hole and I'm not sure if I should worry. Any and all advice welcome.

Thanks,
Ron

If it's 100 inside the cage that's too hot. In the wild snakes
go underground on a day like that. Try for something like 85
on one side of the cage and 75 on the other.
