now their babies hatched and 8 are albino and 2 are snow.
so what does this tell me?

my male smow is het for?

the albino babies are het for?
the snow babies are het for?

Hmmmmmm, could this mean the female amel is het anery??? I dont know, but if you got 2 snow hatchlings, that seems the possible answer. Anyone else??? IF that is the case, then the amels should all be het anery, and the snows are just that, snows.

It's simple-

You're albino is het for anerythristic. The expected ratio from this cross is actually 50% snow, 50% albino het anery, so you actually came out a little light on the snow side....

I can't really help you on the genetics. From my understanding of it to get snows you need both the albino(amel) and anery genes. If I had to guess, I'd say your female mey be het for anery.

I noticed you are a big comic book fan!
Its as good of a place as any to get animal names!
I know I need to find something to get mine from. I just look at the animal until a name jumps at me!

Good luck

Snows are just amels/albinos that are also homozygous for Anery, or you could say, they are Aneries that are homo for Amel.

Your female is het Anery. All the hatchlings (except for the snows) are also het Anery because of their Snow (Amel Anery) father.
